Your MoldCo Treatment Journey
Welcome to MoldCo! We’re excited to support you on your path to better health. This guide explains the key steps of your treatment journey. By understanding the process upfront, you can feel confident and prepared every step of the way.
Step 1: Getting Started with MoldCo
Your journey begins on the MoldCo website, where you’ll complete a comprehensive intake questionnaire. This is a critical step, as it helps us gather essential details about your:
- Symptom history: How you’re feeling and the challenges you’re experiencing.
- Exposure history: Any known or suspected contact with mold or other biotoxins.
- Medical background: Pre-existing conditions and current medications.
The questionnaire provides a thorough baseline assessment, enabling our team to understand your unique health needs.
Once completed, our system will determine if you’re an immediate fit for the program. If you are, you’ll proceed to submit your payment and schedule your first virtual visit with one of our providers.
Step 2: Your First Virtual Consultation
Your first virtual visit with a MoldCo provider is a crucial step.
During this consultation, you will:
- Discuss your health history: Your MoldCo provider will review the details from your intake questionnaire, including symptoms and prior or current exposures.
- Review your treatment plan: Your MoldCo provider will outline the initial steps of your treatment protocol.
- Receive your treatments: At the end of this visit, your provider will typically prescribe a binder such as colesevelam as the first medication in your treatment plan. Prescription binders can help bind and remove toxins from your system, providing an essential foundation for your recovery.
- Order any necessary lab tests: If additional information is needed, your provider may request lab work. Labs are also available for purchase to you at any time at access.moldco.com/labs.
Step 3: Follow-Up and Ongoing Care
- Follow-up questionnaire: After your first month of treatment, you’ll complete a symptom questionnaire to track your progress. You’ll continue monthly questionnaires and check-ins to monitor improvements and adjust your treatment plan.
- Provider review: Your provider will assess your responses and may approve an additional month of colesevelam if needed.
- Additional treatments as necessary: If necessary, your provider may introduce additional treatment steps, such as a biofilm disrupting nasal spray (with EDTA) and a nasal spray of an anti-inflammatory peptide called VIP.
- Direct messaging: You may reach out to your MoldCo provider or the MoldCo support team at any time through the patient portal.
- Ongoing maintenance: As your symptoms improve, your treatment will transition to a maintenance phase.
What Improvements Can You Expect?
As your treatment progresses, you may notice the following:
- Reduction in fatigue: Many patients report increased energy levels within the first month.
- Clearer thinking: Brain fog often decreases as biotoxins are removed.
- Improved respiratory function: If sinus congestion or breathing issues were symptoms, these may improve with the introduction of EDTA nasal spray.
- Better overall well-being: Over time, you’ll likely experience fewer symptoms and improved quality of life.
It’s important to remember that every individual’s response to treatment is different. Regular check-ins with your provider ensure we can tailor the protocol to your needs and make necessary adjustments for optimal results. The changes listed above reflect commonly observed patterns of recovery in patients who have undergone treatment for Mold Toxicity based on clinical records of tens of thousands of patients treated by MoldCo-affiliated clinicians.
Communication and Coordination
We encourage you to stay in touch and let us know if:
- You experience significant changes in your symptoms.
- You encounter challenges with your treatment plan.
- You have questions or concerns about your progress.
It’s also important to share your treatment plan with your primary care provider to ensure all healthcare professionals involved in your care are aware of your current treatments.
Recommendation for Lab Panels
To ensure the best care and treatment outcomes, we recommend conducting both a baseline panel and subsequent, more advanced lab panels, as needed as part of your EDTA and VIP treatment.
Why Lab Panels are Important:
- Creating a Baseline: Establishing a baseline helps us to understand your starting point and tailor your treatment effectively
- Monitoring Progress: Subsequent lab panels allow us to monitor your biomarkers and adjust the treatment if necessary
Who Should Get Lab Panels?
- Recommended for Most Patients: Some patients undergoing EDTA and VIP treatment should have lab panels done to ensure effective monitoring of treatment over time
- EDTA nasal spray: If symptoms don’t improve within 8 weeks of commencing EDTA, consider obtaining a nasal swab, because you may need a stronger dose or some other modification of the regimen
- VIP nasal spray: If you have a history of pancreatitis, your lipase levels must be checked prior to treatment. Additionally, vomiting or sharp abdominal pain could indicate pancreatitis, and should be ruled out with a lipase lab test if these occur.
- MMP9, MSH, and TGFβ1: Testing for blood levels of these biomarkers is available to anyone if needed/wanted (if requested) to monitor inflammation via these inflammation-associated biomarkers
- Exceptions: Patients with conditions that preclude frequent blood tests should consult their provider prior to agreeing to have blood drawn for lab tests
Changes in Labs:
- Before Treatment: Biomarkers will likely show elevated levels of inflammation
- During Treatment: Lab results will be monitored for changes and improvements in biomarkers, such as MMP9, MSH, and TGFβ1
- After Treatment: Ideally, lab panels should show a return to normal ranges for the biomarkers tested, indicating successful treatment
You can order the Starter Panel (MMP9, MSH, and TGFβ1) by visiting access.moldco.com/labs.
For an advanced panel, please work with your MoldCo provider
We appreciate your cooperation in undergoing these tests, as they are essential in achieving the best possible health outcomes for you.
